We are home. Lots to catch up on. Update sometimes this week.

That’s the best way I can describe Friday night. The play (WICKED) was just incredible. If you have ever been a Wizard of Oz fan you must find a way to see this play!!

We dropped the boys off at 5 and Charlie kept dinner a surprise. We went to a steak and seafood place called Trulucks.

After the play we picked the boys up and they both went to sleep right away. In fact, Will feel asleep on the way. They were GRET for the sitter. Lucas did NOT cry!!! Can you believe that?!!!

Saturday we watched a little tiny bit of LOST …. Yes .. just a little. Not a lot. We did NOT watch anywhere near 4 episodes…..We had to go spend time with friends after all …. LOL

So yea, Saturday evening we were at a friend’s and had to cut out early. Will DID NOT have a huge melt down and DID NOT yell at me really loud. Ugh … Lack of sleep caught up with him……

Sunday we did not watch anymore LOST therefore, neglecting our bathroom project….really! Lucas took naps and they got in the way … that’s why……..

OOh yes and my poor Big Butter Baby woke up feeling bad and complaining about his throat. We thought it was because of the yelling/screaming from Saturday. Then we noticed the fever. We called White Glove and they showed up around 4.The tests for strep and the flu came back negative so now we just wait it out and hope the rest of us don’t get it.

I plan to head to Houston once the fever goes away. My Uncle Billy died Sunday and that leaves my mom with only one living sibling (she was one of six). She really just wants to be there with her little brother. The “funeral” is being postponed due to conflicts preventing my cousin from getting her right away. They are going to go ahead with the cremation and have a “Celebration of Life” in October instead of a “funeral”

Alrighty. So…Why would a bottom of NO MORE TANGLES make me laugh? Oh and why on EARTH would a mother of TWO very BOY boys have something like that….

Well it made me laugh because….

Okay let’s start over. Do you ever yell at your kid and then feel like total scum afterwards? YEah. Well. That.

I went into the bathroom after having yelled at Will thinking about how awful I felt and how horrible of a mother I am.

Then I saw this. It was JUST like that. No, I didn’t do it. This kid did.

He’s hilarious.

So I told you how it makes me feel. When (If…..) you ever yell, how does it make you feel   ? ?

I didnt plan on doing a blog post today but what the heck. Lucas is taking nap #2. Go me!

I searched for places to eat while he took his first nap. Why? Well…..Friday is BIG date night. We are going to  see WICKED at 8pm and plan to make a  big deal out of it and go to a fancy dinner before. We usually reserve those for our anniversary, but since we are getting all dolled up…..

Now why was I looking when I told my DH to make where we go  a surprise? Your going to love this part. If you know me the answer is clear. I’m really picky. So..we want to make sure I will actually LIKE it first. I went through and picked a few places and now he will do the rest. Simple enough?

Let’s get back to nap.  The boys were outside playing while we waited for our playdate to arrive. All of a sudden Lucas is fussing out of no where. I pick him and he doesnt stop … about 30 seconds later i see an ant and another and red bumps appearing all over hands, feet and chest. I strip him down.  Here we go again. He’s a magnet for those damn things just like i was.

When he gets that many bites i give him benadrylso he doesnt scratch his skin off. So i took him in, rinsed him off and gave him the meds…which splashed off his gritted teeth into MY NOSE!!! I think at least 1/2 of it went in.

I’m not as good at story telling as he was but here goes. (ooh and yes I used to LOVe listening to Paul Harvey with my mom…maybe i should search youtube for old stories…).

Anywho, after the men unloded the furniture, we ordered chinese food.

Then my niece did my hair: cuut and color .

I used to be a boxgirl but have not colored my hair in quite a while, so my hair was a virgin to color all over again (don’t ask when i FIRST clored my hair, I don’t even remember(10?12?)).

So … Monday we shopped almost all day at the outlet malls.

Would you believe i came home with nothing more than dog tired children?

Lucas absolutely loved my “nephew”(niece’s husband so that makes him my nephew in law?)

Has it really been almost a week since I last blogged?!

Hmm..Well, Last Momday I packed 1/2 the house and went back with my mom so my darling husband could finish the bathroom. Um..yeah. Right.

I forget how miserable the ramp at my mom’s is andhowthe lack of a ramp at my sister’s makes it IMPOSSIBLE to go anywhere without 2 adults or an adult and the twins.

That and Lucas didnt sleep well.So we left on Wednesday and came home.

I did get some Friday’s Red Velvet cake – Oh. My. Yummy. ( shiner peeps…you know what I am talking about).

Anyways Mom came back since Charlie was going to have a busy week (and no the bathroom isnt finished but it’s justifiable if i say so myslef. So there!). We took it pretty easy and Saturday morning charlie and Patti headed to Dallas to get furniture. Sunday they came back with:

My darling niece, and her husband and son arrived just before Charlie and the truck full of goodies. Her hubby helped unload.

I’ll tell you about our visit tomorrow…..but i did let her change my hair!!

Will yelled at a golfer “Hey get out of our yard!!”

He told me I was forgetting my hair this a.m.(he saw it being cut so not sure why he said it)

Yup, Mommy and Daddy missed the first step Lucas took! I was in the shower and Daddy was ripping up stuff in the bathroom for the project … and when we came out My mom told me that he took THREE Steps towards his grandpa. Boooooo Hooo : (

He has NOT done it again!

Today was one of those days that was just an all around GREAT day. The kids were great and we got to catch up with LOTS of former neighbors. And my Mommy is on her way. What could be better?

Lucas went down for his nap as planned and took an awesome nap. Will watched TV. Afterwards we headed South to our old neighborhood. WE got there around 12:30 and had lunch around 1. I got to catch up with Elissa while the boys played. Her sister, Julie, came by and we caught up briefly. Then the mom came by and more of the same. I am not really doing this awesome day any justice am I?

Dang it. I forgot to take pictures. TWice in a row!! What kind of mommy and scrapper am I??

Around 5:30 we headed out and across the street to see DIana. WHile we were chatting I got to say hi to her next door neighbors as they were leaving. It was a nice surprise to get to catch up with so many people.

Just before we left a neighbor from around the corner came by. He loves to walk his dogs and baby girl Abby is now old enough to have had puppies.

I haven’t done these in a while … but here are some funny things Will has said lately

—- We were at the mall and he saw SUBWAY — he said “Mommy, that’s subway. Where you get what you want.” — um, TIVO isn’t doing it’s job

—-I have this callapsable vegetable steamer. Will wanted to know what it was. I opened it and closed it back. He said “oooh cool!! It transforms!!”

On top of that he looks out for his brother. He has been earning money wth “helper dots” and had money various people gave him in an envelope. He had enough dots to buy a toy today and I told him to just put the cash (maybe $6) in his piggy bank. Just now he said he was going to go put it in Lucas’ piggy bank because he doesnt have very much money. How sweet is that?!!

Should I still blog if I have NOTHING substantial to write about? It was REALLY hot and miserable today so nothing really happened. . .

Okay. That’s a lie. That’s how tired I am.

I met my friend and fellow digital scrapper, Stephanie, for the first time. How could I forget that?? I just posted about it on our digi scrap boards? Ugh.

She has kids that are close to Will’s age. We really had fun and plan to meet again soon. I am not sure what actually took us so long to meet in the first place.

Now the funny part is that we call ourselves scrappers but did either of us bring a camera to document the event? Nooooooooooooooooo.

That’s ok. Next time.

Our weekend was NOT as productive as we would have liked. WE did bring home tile though!! YAY! (ooh and liights) Charlie also managed to get about another 1/2 of the bathroom painted. He’s going to busy in the evenings this week. The plan is to FINISH paint, rip up the carpet and start/finish tile over the weekend.

My mom and step dad are probably coming into town to help me keep the boys entertained so Charlie can work without interruptions.

Anyways we got distracted because of our washing machine. The thing is only 8 years old but the pump makes all kinds of grinding noises, it rattles like an amusement park ride and our towels STINK like — Well they are just gross. I don’t really notice the smell on clothes. That is a good thing though. Examining that took a big chunk out of the day.

The rubber accordion pipe that goes to the pump was disgusting. We cleaned that out. So We ordered new shocks and a new pump. Hopefully that will help with the noise. When Charlie takes it apart he will see if there is gunk anywhere else because we washed a “new” load last night and the towels still stink.

This is really frusterating because we do not want to have to spend the money on a new washer. Our goal was to wait until it dies so we can get a matching set (we got a huge, perfectly functioning dryer in CRAIGS LIST for only $50 about 4 years ago)….and we were hoping we’d get more life out of it then we have. The dryer? Still works like a charm.

I would be tempted to do a regular washer but it is to hard to reach in and get everything out. Why don’t you try it yourself and see . I can do it but Front loader is much easier (and then the boys can’t help )

Enough about the stupid washer. Floors. We really want all new floors. The carpet is a cream color and came with the house when they built it (96?). It’s not BAD but it goes flat quickly and well .. .. it’s LIGHT. So we bought a good carpet shampooer in hopes that we can stretch the carpet a little longer.

I havent written anything about the boys. BAD MOMMY. Hmmm …Our weekend was just really stressful and the boys we very into EVERYTHING, making it even crazier.

We thougt we needed a new battery for the van but that worked out and we do NOT – yay.
