had a very fun, BUSY weekend. I’ll try not to bore everyone with all the details but it’s definteley worth recapping. Charlie’s Aunt was in Texas for a conference and when she finished she decided to come visit for the rest of the weekend.
It was a great weekend and we were able to introduce her to several of our local favorites!

2000-getting the hang of paralysis (happened 9-99), Went to Calgary to meet a quad, “Met” Mike on NYE
2001-Went to Toronto to meet Mike, who would later become a forever friend to my husband and I …. Met Charlie, went to races in forth worth, Charlie bought me an Xterra, started school again at Coastal Bend in Beeville, GOT ENGAGED, ended up in out of hospital due to a pressure sore, had to QUIT school
2002- Spent Months in the hospital from pressure sore surgery recovery, moved from the house Charlie JUST bought to an apartment (house was not accessible) Bought season tickets to races , Adopted Mia (still have her!!) Charlie got laid off and we got married in December, Charlie traded his Miata for a Infiniti G20, I worked at Foley’s for a few months
2003-Life as a newly wed …. Moved to Cap Rock, Charlie got a new job, continued going to races in Fort Worth, Uncloe Lawrence died
2004-Charlie was laid off again and started another new job, more nascar/IRL/ Truck races, Aunt Mary died … Got pregnant and had William!
I know 03/04 were more interesting … but…….
2005- Went to North Dakota, Daddy died, started our trail of lights tradition (stopped in 2009, they scaled back this year and plan to STOP entirely), met lots of new friends in a playgroup (sadly lost touch with almost all of them now), really started to get to know the Cap Rock neighbors … old ones and new ones, traded the Xterra and bought a sentra
2006-Stopped race tickets (too much with Will needing his own), Went to the BEACH with my twin nieces, Will got his first haircut., took Will to a car race in Houston and his first movie, CARS, went on a subway ride in dallas, North Dakota trip, again! I THINK this is the year Charlie started working at his CURRENT job)
2007-North Dakota for Charlie Grandmother’s death (left Will with MY mom) Started trying to get pregnant, started our 4th of July tradition at “Da Ranch”, Got pregnant in September, got to be an extra in Friday Night lights on 2 different occasions, started and failed a 365 self portrait project, became a GREAT aunt – TWICE
2008-Charlie’s Grandfather died, Lucas was born, bought our forever house, Will started Preschool
2009-Will started TaeKwonDo and then Charlie started it too. Charlie finally bought his DREAM car (and M3), Mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly, bought a boat, Uncle Billy died, making plans for hardwood floors in the entire house
Charlie took a driving course at www.drivewayaustin.com this past weekend. He loved it and plans to advance!!
We are going to have the sail boat we looked at inspected and if all goes well, buy it!! We may even be in it this Saturday!!
I don’t think there is much else going on!

I know I said I’d keep up with this but we have just been so busy and when not “busy” just flat out TIRED.
Patti’s house is cleaned out and everything is in storage. The painting is complete and we are just waiting on carpet, cleaners and landscapers. We should have it on the market mid-week. 
Everything is kind of getting back to “normal” . . . I think once the house actually sells it will be definite.
Nothing really new going on, but at this stage that is proabably a good thing.
Last night we played operation and Lucas wanted to play too…….

Today is our last day of “summer”. Will starts school tomorrow! He is really excited. Me? Not so much. I think I want him to go, but then I realize how much I am going to miss him and how sad I am that he is growing SO FAST! I mean he’s going to be FIVE in 3 months. I mean really?! How the heck did THAT happen!?

We are still only going to send him 3 days a week, so I can enjoy what little time I have left with him as a “little” boy. No matter how much that kid frustrates me, he is still an amazing and loving little boy. Full of opinion and smart as can be. Of course he’s “tall for his age” too…which he proudly points out these days. I guess a few to many people have said it to him, lol.
Alrighty. We are off to get a haircut. I’ll tweet it. Afterwards we will probably run a few errands before we hit TKD.

oooh and www.wheelchairmommy.com is still coming .. it’s just been put on the back burner. I really do want to separate the two. It will basically be the same blog but there are some things I just don’t think need to be on my “family” blog, if that makes sense.?
I do plan to do a FAQs, when we launch. People usually have lots of random questions for me when we meet and become friends. HOw? When? Do I drive? have help? deliveries? pregnant in a wheelchair? Things of that nature….. I guess it’s time I kind of recapped. I hate when I don’t write on here because the catch up is always really overwhelming. However, I didn’t bring my laptop with me and I can’t seem to get my wordpress ap to work on the iphone.
Anyways, My uncle Billy died on August 23rd. He was the 4th child and oldest boy. He was only a couple of years younger than my mom. He left 2 siblings. My Mom and my Uncle Pat.
Mom wanted to go visit Pat since there isnt a funeral planned in the immediate future. One of my Cousins can’t make it right away and since he is being creamated there really isnt a rush.
We were going to go EARLY last week but as I think I already said, Will had an unexplained fever for 3 days. So, we left on Thursday and came back on Sunday.
We got to meet my uncle’s new bride/widow. I think they were only married a year or two.
The visit was nice, considering. I did take pictures but have not uploaded them yet.
That, however, is the good part. While I was gone Charlie updated my hard drive again (3rd times a charm!!). I now have TWICE the space I did before!! YAY.
That’s the best way I can describe Friday night. The play (WICKED) was just incredible. If you have ever been a Wizard of Oz fan you must find a way to see this play!!
We dropped the boys off at 5 and Charlie kept dinner a surprise. We went to a steak and seafood place called Trulucks.
After the play we picked the boys up and they both went to sleep right away. In fact, Will feel asleep on the way. They were GRET for the sitter. Lucas did NOT cry!!! Can you believe that?!!!
Saturday we watched a little tiny bit of LOST …. Yes .. just a little. Not a lot. We did NOT watch anywhere near 4 episodes…..We had to go spend time with friends after all …. LOL
So yea, Saturday evening we were at a friend’s and had to cut out early. Will DID NOT have a huge melt down and DID NOT yell at me really loud. Ugh … Lack of sleep caught up with him……
Sunday we did not watch anymore LOST therefore, neglecting our bathroom project….really! Lucas took naps and they got in the way … that’s why……..
OOh yes and my poor Big Butter Baby woke up feeling bad and complaining about his throat. We thought it was because of the yelling/screaming from Saturday. Then we noticed the fever. We called White Glove and they showed up around 4.The tests for strep and the flu came back negative so now we just wait it out and hope the rest of us don’t get it.
I plan to head to Houston once the fever goes away. My Uncle Billy died Sunday and that leaves my mom with only one living sibling (she was one of six). She really just wants to be there with her little brother. The “funeral” is being postponed due to conflicts preventing my cousin from getting her right away. They are going to go ahead with the cremation and have a “Celebration of Life” in October instead of a “funeral”
I’m not as good at story telling as he was but here goes. (ooh and yes I used to LOVe listening to Paul Harvey with my mom…maybe i should search youtube for old stories…).
Anywho, after the men unloded the furniture, we ordered chinese food.
Then my niece did my hair: cuut and color .
I used to be a boxgirl but have not colored my hair in quite a while, so my hair was a virgin to color all over again (don’t ask when i FIRST clored my hair, I don’t even remember(10?12?)).

Today was one of those days that was just an all around GREAT day. The kids were great and we got to catch up with LOTS of former neighbors. And my Mommy is on her way. What could be better?
Lucas went down for his nap as planned and took an awesome nap. Will watched TV. Afterwards we headed South to our old neighborhood. WE got there around 12:30 and had lunch around 1. I got to catch up with Elissa while the boys played. Her sister, Julie, came by and we caught up briefly. Then the mom came by and more of the same. I am not really doing this awesome day any justice am I?

Around 5:30 we headed out and across the street to see DIana. WHile we were chatting I got to say hi to her next door neighbors as they were leaving. It was a nice surprise to get to catch up with so many people.
Just before we left a neighbor from around the corner came by. He loves to walk his dogs and baby girl Abby is now old enough to have had puppies.

Should I still blog if I have NOTHING substantial to write about? It was REALLY hot and miserable today so nothing really happened. . .
Okay. That’s a lie. That’s how tired I am.
I met my friend and fellow digital scrapper, Stephanie, for the first time. How could I forget that?? I just posted about it on our digi scrap boards? Ugh.
She has kids that are close to Will’s age. We really had fun and plan to meet again soon. I am not sure what actually took us so long to meet in the first place.
Now the funny part is that we call ourselves scrappers but did either of us bring a camera to document the event? Nooooooooooooooooo.
That’s ok. Next time.
Our weekend was NOT as productive as we would have liked. WE did bring home tile though!! YAY! (ooh and liights) Charlie also managed to get about another 1/2 of the bathroom painted. He’s going to busy in the evenings this week. The plan is to FINISH paint, rip up the carpet and start/finish tile over the weekend.
My mom and step dad are probably coming into town to help me keep the boys entertained so Charlie can work without interruptions.
Anyways we got distracted because of our washing machine. The thing is only 8 years old but the pump makes all kinds of grinding noises, it rattles like an amusement park ride and our towels STINK like — Well they are just gross. I don’t really notice the smell on clothes. That is a good thing though. Examining that took a big chunk out of the day.
The rubber accordion pipe that goes to the pump was disgusting. We cleaned that out. So We ordered new shocks and a new pump. Hopefully that will help with the noise. When Charlie takes it apart he will see if there is gunk anywhere else because we washed a “new” load last night and the towels still stink.
This is really frusterating because we do not want to have to spend the money on a new washer. Our goal was to wait until it dies so we can get a matching set (we got a huge, perfectly functioning dryer in CRAIGS LIST for only $50 about 4 years ago)….and we were hoping we’d get more life out of it then we have. The dryer? Still works like a charm.
I would be tempted to do a regular washer but it is to hard to reach in and get everything out. Why don’t you try it yourself and see . I can do it but Front loader is much easier (and then the boys can’t help )

Enough about the stupid washer. Floors. We really want all new floors. The carpet is a cream color and came with the house when they built it (96?). It’s not BAD but it goes flat quickly and well .. .. it’s LIGHT. So we bought a good carpet shampooer in hopes that we can stretch the carpet a little longer.

I havent written anything about the boys. BAD MOMMY. Hmmm …Our weekend was just really stressful and the boys we very into EVERYTHING, making it even crazier.
We thougt we needed a new battery for the van but that worked out and we do NOT – yay.
Enough rambling. Sorry.
I think we are getting closer to laying tile in our bathroom!!! Charlie should finish the paint (remember — it’s going to be the same shad as a Tiffany jewelry box!!) tomorrow and we will head to home depot to buy our tile. We already picked it out and then heard something about EPI ratings?? So now we have to make sure if has a high enough rating so we don’t waste our time and money. We knew we were replacing the carpet (YES, carpet in our bathroom, yuck!) so we have NOT protected it. It’s actually kinda funny how bad it is. I will definitely have to take a picture of how messy we were.
My sister came by yesterday after taking her daughter to the eye doctor. I have to go the store today so I can get a ruler w/ mm measurements so I can make sure I ordered proper glasses for her from Zenni Optical (glasses starting at $8!!!). Awesome place to get your glasses.
I made a scrap page from WAY back in March….
Okay. So, not they aren’t REALLY MY girls but they are my “my” girls. Alison and Brittany are 14 today. They are my nieces. They were born 33 1/2 minutes apart. They won’t REALLY be 14 until later this evening. .
I remember the night before VERY clearly. We knew my sister was going to go in labor ANY day so Mom and I were staying with her. She woke up and was telling us something about not feeling good and her back hurting (your back would hurt too if you were carring almost 14 pounds of baby)!! SHe was about to step over me to go back to her room and just as her leg went over it shot right back down and she told us her water just broke. (almost ON me).
We headed to the hospital and many hours later Brittany was born at 7lbs 8 oz and Alison at 6 lbs 1 and 1/2 oz.
Here they are around 9 months
and here they are now.
I just can’t believe they are young ladies and not babies. I was around them SO SO much when they were little it was like they were MINE. They were there when I woke up (Sis dropped them off when she went to work) and when I came home from school. We even did some co-sleeping (at times sister had to work more than one job).
People sometime thought that one was mine and one was my sisters. Aaaah… And now how fast our MY boys going to grow???!
