My son (Lucas) loves shoes.; socks, too! He must wear them at all times. Really.  No joke. When I dress him in the morning he will find them and grunt at me until I put them on his feet. (very cute feet, I must add!)

He leans towards liking the brown pair best. Not sure why. They otherwise look exactly like the blue pair.

Sometimes he even wants me to put them on OVER his footed PJs. It doesn’t work well.

On the bright side he will allow me to remove them for naps/bedtime. Hurray for that! It’s really cute because he will wiggles his toes when I take them off….oh and I must take off the socks AND shoes. Not just the shoes. Silly boy.

I think we will be in the market for new ones soon. These are getting small. I’m afraid.

On the Will front; he is OBSESSED with Monster Jam — monster jam this, monster jam that — it’s taking over. He has trucks, a video game (wii and DS) and he watches the shows on TV.  I must say that those trucks are pretty  AMAZING! Have you ever seen them?? We are going to a show in the new year.

me? charlie?

I went to see NEW MOON last night. VERY nice. Charlie bought a boat. A REAL one. Sleeps 7. Details on that once I have real pictures for you! :D

Ok to start off we are going BACK to the doctor today. Lucas has a little red bumpy rash over a large part of his body. My Pedi friends said “it’s very unlikely to be an antibiotic allergy. Most likely a viral rash or even an antibiotic rash, but not an allergy” …. But we are still going to go just in case. This is our first rash while on antibiotic.

So what happened to me?

Thursday was a day like any other. I just felt bad. I pushed through not thinking much about it, allergies, right? As the day went on I felt worse and worse. My back started hurting, and my tummy. I was really sore and achy and starting to feel feverish….Then it just downright HURT. . . it was a really slow, strange progressions.

Finally I coudn’t take it and was in tears. It was the boys bedtime by now and I REALLY didn’t want to drag them out but my mom was 2 hours away. However, the doctor’s after hours office was open until 8:30 and if I didnt want to sit in an ER I had to go NOW. SO we got our sleepy, jammy wearing boys in the van and headed out. (oooh I was running about 101 at this time.

I got there and they made me pee. Of course. Doc looked  everything over and told me I had a UTI. She also looked in my ears, nose, throat (Sinuses had been bugging me too). Infection there too…. So she gave me an RX and we waited in the car almost an hour before just heading home.

Mom and step dad were already here and we had to chaos to get the RX took off. I don’t even want to write about that. Anyways…took meds and went to bed.

Friday was the WORST day. Fever was creeping up 1/2 a degree every 30 minutes for about 4 hours and leveled out at pretty close to 104 (103.5 or .8 I think).  We got it down for the night and it peaked again Saturday morning. I was miserable and felt like I was going to throw up. My body felt like I’d had a c-section again. Sore and hurt all over.

I was so hot Lucas wanted me and as soon as he layed on me jumped off.

Saturday afternoon we got a call saying they found E-colli in my urine culture. Really? Huh? HOw????

Oksay so they added another antibiotic and Sunday I was still feeling bad, but improving.

Lucas was NOT! He was burning up.  DH had been up with him a few times the night before. SO he took him to doc and Bad infection in left ear, starting to go into right ear. Antitbiotics for him too….UGH

Monday I was feeling a little better … and so on. Finally started eating … Sunday night I think? Before that, just nibbles here and there.

And that’s about it …. Mom and step dad went home yesterday. Life is almost back to normal.

I’ll spill more details another day but for now Lucas and I have been sick.

I went to the doctor and Thursday night and Lucas went Sunday morning

We’ve both had fever and all. We are both on antibiotics and on the mend but I am still weak and Lucas is still running fever.

Monday’s  Weekly Menu is up!! Yum! We are trying something new this week!!Check Out the quick tip at the bottom of the recipe. That’s the shortcut i am taking.

July 20-26

  • Monday – macaroni and fruit
  • Tuesday – Pizza night!
  • Wednesday – homemade pinto beans on jalepeno cheese tortillas ( we were going to do cornbread but saw these and they looked yum)
  • Thursday -  Chicken enchiladas from REAL SIMPLE magazine
  • Friday – My nephews couples shower so whatever they are serving
  • Saturday Lunch-leftovers
  • Saturday Dinner- Burgers and Tator Tots ( the burgers are the frozen, precooked variety but they were free with an HEB meal deal a few weeks ago)
  • Sunday Lunch-leftovers or sandwhiches
  • Sunday Dinner-?????????

OOOOOOOOOOOOOooh and some really famous TV reality series contacted me today …… I’ll post about that later.

Lucas had a follow-up and all is well. We’ve been mixing his nasty-nasty juice with ICE COLD juice what do you know ….. HE DRINKS IT ALL UP!!!!

I went back to my dermatologist today too. I made an appointment with a family physician in the Peds office and she really didnt know … and worked her magic to get me in to the derm TODAY. Origianlly it was going to be the partner but 10 minutes later called and said my doc had an opening in an hour and a half. I  jumped on it.  He’s stumped. That’s all there is to it. I was on prednisone for 3ish weeks and it has NOT improved. He thought it was an allergy..now we think it might be something else but he ran a quick test for that and didnt find evidence it could be that. Anyways it is potentially contagious for people in the same house so we are all being treated for it now. Blech.

I hope it helps. That was my day. Docotors and pharmacies.

Ok . … Off to read a few blogs and maybe finish my book…..and when Charlie gets home we treat Will and get him to bed. I’m letting him stay up tonight :D .

Tuesday is my favorite day of the week; it’s Pizza and game night, after all. What’s not to love?! We taught Will to play UNO. That was fun. Who would think a 4 year old would catch on to games so easily? He never ceases to amaze me with his smarts!!!

Here are a couple of pics. One is a ferryboat that Will built for his cars and the other is just my handsome boy. ( I say boy instead of boys because you cant see Lucas clearly…you can in the other shot I took but he is screaming BLOODY murder)

Lucas hasnt been feeling well. He got this weird rash that I’ve had for a few months. He’s taken meds for it and we are just waiting to see if they work. Anyways, he’s been a total grouch.  I, of course, had to make a Layout about it. What kind of scrapper would I be if I didn’t?

Everything is from Edeline Designs, debuting soon at a new store…..I’ll update credits when I can.

I go back to the doctor tomorrow for a follow up since my meds didn’t work. Blech.

This weeks menu has been posted and I added another new page (foodroll) that will include recipes I find on varies blogs….

Yesterday started our pretty average, but around 2:45 that all changed. We were heading out for an appointment and the garage door would NOT open. Now, if you know me, you know this is BAD. It’s my only way out of the house (unless you count the back yard). I tried the garage door button AGAIN and still nada. Somehow, a string had been pulled and it thought it was already open — I don’t really know, something like that. Anyways, I called my darling husband because I was starting to panic. Who wants to be trapped in a house with kids and no way to get out (WE MUST MAKE RAMP ON FRONT DOOR PRIORITY!)??

Anyways, he called the neighbor (I need to get that number….) and he came and manually opened the door for me. We got in the van and headed to our appointment. This “delay” almost made me late but Charlie met us there to help me out so I could get in faster and then he headed home to fix whatever hte heck was wrong.

The rest of the day went mostly smooth.

Will is without video games right now and he keeps complaining about THAT….but he really needed the break from it.

Charlie had to work late so the boys and I had make shift dinner. I had La Madeline Tomato Basil. Oh. My. Goodness. This is my favorite soup ever. I am beyond thrilled that it comes in a jar from my local grocery store. The best part is that it tastes EXACTLY the same. The bad part is that I can eat the ENTIRE jar and it has about 64 grams of fat and 680 calories. But it is ssoooo worth it so who cares.

Lucas has chicken nuggets and spoonful after spoonful of avocado. Crazy kid. Will…well he had nuggets and yogurt. No avocado for him, lol.

I got BOTH boys to bed by 7:40. GO ME.

Just when Charlie was on his way home he discovered the clutch was broken in his loaner. It was after 10 so there was no way I could go out after him so he called josh. Two hours later and a little more drama and he was finally home.

I did get some reading in :D

I really need to remember to pull over and write these things down the moment they happen (okay, that’s not REALLY practical, but it sounds good).

Today we were out shopping and Will told me that the whole world is full of air and wanted to know if it woud run out of air. How is that for his brain turning?

—-

Another thing. I really need to report experiences like this more  often. We were on our way to the van and this women stopped me and told me how much I insprired her and made her realize she didn’t really have it so hard.  She was about my mom’s age and limped a little as if she had arthritis. She wasn’t implying I had it hard, but just wanted to let me know wonderful she thought I was. She made my day a little better. I must have told her thank you about 5 times. LOL.

We oredered our Fridge and Dishwasher too!! The dishwasher doesnt seem to have very mant or good reviews though. Not sure why? Maybe it’s still too new? We didn’t realize this until AFTER. I guess we should have looked at that first. I guess we are going to look at other reviews and decide if we want to chance it or not.

My mom, Leon and Brittany came in to town on Friday. Charlie and I went on a date (Indiana Jones) and in the middle of the night I woke up vomiting. I vomited into Saturday afternoon and Saturday night Will starting vomiting. Mom and Britt decided to stay. Yuck.

We had a nice-calm weekend. Saturday we were pretty lazy and went to the store. We needed the oil changed, lunch and groceries- so we went to wal-mart. After we got home, we took a dress back to the mall. I loved it but it was too big (which remind me to see if it’s on line when I finish here). Then we went to Toys r Us for more puzzles. Will is obsessed with them and just races through 25-60 piece ones. We got a couple of 100 piece boxes.

He already put one together with little help.

Sunday we took it even easier. We got a water slide while we were at Toys r us and when Charlie got ready to set it up, the hose was messed up so he took will to buy a new one while Lucas and I napped – - that boy kept fighting his sleep, but thankfully went down.

When they got back we spent the rest of the afternoon on the slipnslide (well Will and charlie did). Gage was out there too. And Elissa and Powell. Jake had a softball game so he didnt get to play.

Later in the evening we went to Chili’s for dinner. YUm.

First we had a playdate at the park with a bunch of friends. That was fun. Then we headed out for lunch at the mall.

I almost bought some pants at GAP — they were bigger than what I was Pre-preg. So i didn’t. LOL. I know I am only 4 weeks PP but i am having huge issues with clothes. Maternity is too big and no way do I fit into what I wore before (0-2). I did find some cute capris at Wal-Mart for only $15. I might go back and get those in all the colors they have.

WE were shopping around when there was a MAJOR explosion (nothing leaked out of his clothes, thankfully) from Lucas — again — and i’d used all 3 diapers that I’d packed for that trip. I should know better, the kid is a total poop machine.

I was going to do a little shopping for the boys but didnt find anything I just HAD TO HAVE. We were in Children’s Place and Will had to poop – they didn’t have a public restroom (WTH?? – every other place let’s us go!!!). So my niece darted across the way to CPK (cali pizza) and he made it just in time. :D . I didn’t go back to do any shopping at TCP :-P .

Now we are home – Lucas is sleeping and Will and my niece are having a Lemonade stand.

So we’ve had our G2 for almost 6 years. It still works but time is running out for it. We’ve been looking at cameras FOREVER. So i finally decided on a little cheapie to keep in my diaper bag until we are ready to spend $$$ on a XSi or D40……Yes all of these are Cannon cameras.

Here is what I got today.

and a picture of Lucas with it (cropped)

I’m not 100% in love — but it will be fine for what I mainly want it for … for now.

I started running a fever yesterday. It was 101 and 5:20 so I had to call the after hours number. The doctor on call called in an antibiotic. I went to bed “ok” and was “ok” during the HUGE storm we had last night.

Around 5 I woke up on fire and had a 103.8-104.0 fever, depending on the ear. I called again. He said I could just wait until the office opened. They ran a bunch of test and the CBC and urine analysis are fine so we are just waiting on more that won’t be back until Monday. Hopefully I am better by then anyways. He also did a pelvic exam and all seems fine there so I dunno.
